Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?Ī: My career is Music. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?Ī: My laptop, interface, external hard drive, headphones, and microphone. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?Ī: Work with someone who's not gonna only just mix your music to sound good, but make sure they will also take the extra time to be creative. I can get clues from the production but ultimately it matters most what the song means to you, and who you're looking to reach with it. The same song could be released with a Pop, Country, Indie, or "Coffeehouse", vibe. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?Ī: Mostly what aesthetic they're going for, who their influences are, what's their audience. In an ideal world, mixing is enhancing/bringing out the heart of the song, but not heavily changing production or basic presentation. On the mixing side, there tend to be people who think that mixing will change the song. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?Ī: On the mastering side people tend to think a bad mix can be fixed in mastering. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?Ī: Quality - Time & Effort - Satisfaction Guaranteed!Ī: I love that I can make something sound and feel so much better after I've put my special touch on it! Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?Ī: Both for different reasons and situations. Q: What are you working on at the moment?Ī: Currently I am working on mixing and mastering 3 Albums that should be being released sometime in mid to late 2022. This project should be coming out late 2022. What was your role?Ī: A project that i am extremely proud to be able to have worked on is a project called "wasted time" by Milo, the song really pushed my comfort zone but i am extremely glad it did.
